A D&D Social Skills Adventure

We combine the engaging world of Dungeons & Dragons with social skills training to help neurodiverse kids develop essential social and emotional skills in a fun and immersive environment. The curriculum integrates Social Thinking concepts and overcoming obstacles strategies.

Objectives & Outcomes

  • Participants will learn to express their thoughts and feelings more effectively, both verbally and non-verbally, by engaging in character role-play and group interactions.

  • Through the narrative and character development in Dungeons & Dragons, participants will gain insight into the thoughts, feelings, and motivations of others, fostering empathy and understanding.

  • By navigating various in-game challenges and working collaboratively with peers, participants will enhance their ability to think critically, strategize, and make decisions in a social context.

  • Participants will practice managing their emotions during gameplay and learn to advocate for their needs in a supportive environment, leading to improved self-regulation and confidence.

  • Sessions are held once per week, on Thursdays, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM.

  • You will need a computer with internet access, a webcam, and a headset with a microphone (optional), and a discord account. All other materials, such as character sheets and rulebooks, will be provided digitally.
